Can’t I do everything I need to do with Report Builder?

Whilst Report Builder gives users access to a reduced but similar feature-set, the administrative overhead required to set up a semantic data model can outway the end-user interactivity benefits. True ad-hoc manipulation of reports is performed at an abstracted ‘report editing’ level, requiring the user to edit reports, demanding higher skill levels than those required by RSinteract. All of the intuitive interaction provided by RSinteract is delivered via a true zero footprint (no plug-ins or downloads) in Internet Explorer.

Can I report on data outside of SQL Server?

RSinteract leverages all the integration, consolidation and analysis capabilities of SQL Server.  Once you have installed and configured Reporting Services, SQL Server provides Reporting Services and RSinteract with connectivity to almost any data source.
